Podium Finishers

Home fans filled with ecstasy as their hometown hero Max Verstappen crossed the line first under the checkered flag at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Polesitter Verstappen claimed his seventh win of the season despite title rival Lewis Hamilton in his rear mirrors for all 72 laps.

The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton settled for P2. He managed to secure a crucial point for fastest lap of the race after pitting for softs with two laps remaining.

Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas secured P3, scoring valuable points for the constructors championship this season.

Best of the Rest

The Alpha Tauri of Pierre Gasly drove a spectacular race, finishing a mighty respectable P4 for the Frenchman. Gasly’s friend on and off the track, Charles Leclerc, finished P5 for Ferrari.

Fernando Alonso took P6 after a late pass over the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz on the last lap of the race.

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez managed P8. It was a mighty recovery drive for the Mexican driver after starting from the pit lane due to a flat spotted tire. Perez was duly voted Driver of the Day.

Esteban Ocon and Lando Norris rounded out the points for the day.

Fastest Lap Drama

After a late pit stop for soft tires, the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas seemingly ignored team orders to abort a fastest lap attempt.

It was a moot point as Hamilton secured the point in the final lap of the race, but it begs the question: does Bottas know something that we don’t?

Looking Ahead

The final race of the triple-header is upon us next weekend as the grid returns to Italy. It’s lights out in Monza as we get the second sprint qualifying of the season.
